Amped A18 Comp 800W Electric Bike – Quick Overview

Best for: confident riders wanting the ultimate flagship 18” electric bike.

    Ideal rider height: around 120–150cm.

Motor: 36V 800W brushless alloy hub motor with 1000W peak power.

    Battery: 36V 10Ah lithium battery.

Speed modes: Beginner / Advanced / Sport — up to 25mph.

Key upgrades: full suspension, hydraulic brakes, 6061 aluminium frame, FASTACE rear shock and 18” Duro fat off-road tyres.

Our view: if you are looking for the best 18” electric bike on the market, the Amped A18 Comp is where we would start.

Amped A18 Comp 800W Electric Bike

The Amped A18 Comp is the flagship 18” electric bike in the Amped range and one of the most capable 18-inch kids electric bikes currently available in the UK.

Built for confident young riders who are ready for a serious step up, the A18 Comp combines a 36V 800W motor, 1000W peak output, full suspension, hydraulic brakes, a lightweight 6061 aluminium frame and 18” Duro fat off-road tyres.

This is not just a faster balance bike. The Amped A18 Comp is designed to feel more like a small electric motocross-style bike, giving riders better suspension control, stronger braking, improved grip and much more confidence across grass, dirt, gravel and off-road terrain.

For riders around 120–150cm tall, the A18 Comp is the premium choice if you want the ultimate 18” electric bike rather than a standard entry-level model.

Not sure whether this is the right model? Compare the Revvi 18 vs Amped A18 Comp, read our Amped A18 Comp vs A20 Comp guide, or browse the best 18 inch electric bikes for kids UK guide.

My Take as a British MX Rider

The A18 Comp is the 18” bike I would look at when a rider has outgrown the feel of a standard electric balance bike and is ready for something much more serious.

The big difference is not just the speed. It is the chassis, suspension and braking package. The full suspension setup, hydraulic brakes and fat off-road tyres make the bike feel far more planted and capable than most normal kids electric bikes.

Compared with a Revvi 18, the A18 Comp is the more premium, performance-focused option. The Revvi 18 is a brilliant all-round electric bike, but the A18 Comp is the one for riders who want the flagship 18” machine.

If your rider is taller or you want more room to grow, compare the A18 Comp vs A20 Comp before you buy.

If your rider fits the sizing and wants the best 18” electric bike we sell, the Amped A18 Comp is the standout choice.

Why the Amped A18 Comp Is the Flagship 18” Choice

The Amped A18 Comp sits above standard 18” electric balance bikes because it is built around a much more serious performance package. It is aimed at riders who are already confident and want more suspension, more grip, stronger brakes and a more capable chassis.

    Flagship 18” Model

The A18 Comp is the top 18” Amped bike, built for riders who want premium performance rather than a basic starter bike.

    1000W Peak Power

The 36V 800W brushless motor delivers strong, responsive power with up to 1000W peak output.

    Full Suspension

Hydraulic adjustable front forks and FASTACE rear air shock help the bike stay controlled over rougher ground.

    Hydraulic Brakes

XOD hydraulic brakes front and rear give the rider stronger, more controlled stopping power.

    18” Fat Off-Road Tyres

Duro fat tyres give extra grip and stability across grass, gravel, dirt tracks and woodland terrain.

    Premium Aluminium Frame

The 6061 aluminium frame keeps the bike strong, stable and properly built for progression.

Amped A18 Comp vs Revvi 18

The Revvi 18 is one of the best all-round 18” electric bikes for young riders, but the Amped A18 Comp is the more premium, performance-focused option.

Feature Revvi 18 Amped A18 Comp
Best For Great all-round 18” electric bike Ultimate flagship 18” performance bike
Rider Type Progressing riders wanting a capable 18” bike Confident riders wanting Comp-level performance
Suspension Rear suspension setup Full suspension with hydraulic front forks and FASTACE rear shock
Brakes Strong electric bike braking package XOD hydraulic brakes front and rear
Overall Feel Fun, capable and confidence-building More premium, planted and motocross-inspired

Choose the Revvi 18 if you want a brilliant all-round 18” electric bike for confidence, progression and value.

Choose the Amped A18 Comp if you want the ultimate 18” electric bike with full suspension, hydraulic brakes and a more serious off-road feel.

Three Speed Modes for Controlled Progression

The A18 Comp gives parents and riders three clear speed settings, making it easier to build confidence before using the bike at full performance.

    Mode Speed Best For
Beginner 7.5mph / 12km/h Controlled first sessions and confidence building
Advanced 17.5mph / 28km/h Progressing riders ready for more speed
Sport 25mph / 40km/h Confident riders using the bike at full performance

Where Does the A18 Comp Fit in the Amped Range?

The Amped A18 Comp sits above standard 18” electric bikes and below the larger A20 Comp. It is the premium 18” choice for riders who want serious performance, but still need the more manageable 18” platform.

A18 Comp vs A20 Comp vs A24 Comp

The A18 Comp sits in the premium Amped Comp range and is often the best choice for riders who want flagship performance without jumping straight to a larger chassis.

    Model Recommended Height Best For
A18 Comp 120–150cm Ultimate flagship 18” electric bike.
A20 Comp 130–160cm Bigger Comp platform with extra room and stability.
A24 Comp 145cm+ Largest Amped bike for taller teenagers.

For most riders around 120–150cm tall, the A18 Comp delivers the sweet spot of sizing, performance and control. If the rider is particularly tall or already pushing the limits of the 18” platform, the A20 Comp may be worth considering.

Revvi full-face helmet sizes

How to measure

Measure around the widest part of the rider's head. The tape should pass above the eyebrows and ears and around the fullest part at the back of the head.

SizeHead circumference
XS, Extra Small48 to 50cm
S, Small51 to 54cm
M, Medium55 to 58cm
L, Large59 to 61cm

Always choose by the rider's actual head measurement, not by age. Head shape can also affect how a helmet fits.

Between sizes? Do not automatically choose a larger helmet for growing room. A helmet must fit securely now. If the rider falls between sizes, check the fit carefully before use.

Amped AMP-1 helmet sizes

How to measure

Measure around the widest part of the rider's head. The tape should pass above the eyebrows and ears and around the fullest part at the back of the head.

SizeHead circumference
M, Medium54 to 58cm
L, Large58 to 62cm

Always choose by the rider's actual head measurement, not by age. Head shape can also affect how a helmet fits.

Measuring exactly 58cm? That falls in both sizes. Fit varies with head shape, so check the measurement and that the helmet sits securely before use. Do not choose a loose helmet to allow growing room.

Revvi riding jersey sizes

Choosing a size

The Revvi Kids Riding Jersey comes in dedicated sizes for younger children and growing youth riders. Select the size before adding it to your basket.

YL, Youth LargeAges 10 to 11

Ages are a guide only. Consider the child's height, build and preferred fit too.

Between sizes? If the rider is between sizes, still growing or likely to wear a base layer underneath, the larger size may be more comfortable.

Kids riding jersey sizes

How to measure

Compare these with a jersey or long-sleeve top that already fits the rider well. Chest width is measured across the front with the jersey laid flat, so it is half the full chest.

Ages are a guide only. The chest width and body length are the best way to choose.

Riding glove sizes

How to measure

Palm: straight across the widest part of the palm, not including the thumb.
Length: from the base of the wrist to the tip of the longest finger.

SizeAge guidePalm widthHand length

YM, Youth MediumYouth Medium8.5cm14cm

Use the measurements rather than age alone. Hand shapes vary, so check both wherever possible. Once fitted, make sure the rider can comfortably use the throttle, brakes and every handlebar control.

Between sizes? The larger size usually gives a more comfortable fit and a little growing room, but the glove must not get in the way of safe control of the bike.
